Bachman Estate Revived

Seven gables jut from the now synthetic slate 100 year roof that rests upon the stone and wood Manson standing solid as an old country barn. Bachman Manor is a Tudor style 14,796 square foot home on 29.55 quiet acres of pastoral land located just south of the Canadian border near Lynden WA. The estate was built in 1975 by Randy Bachman of the band Bachman-Turner Overdrive as a weekend retreat & recording studio for Randy and guests who stayed there such as Frank Sinatra, the Beach Boys, and rocker Sammy Hagar.

There have been a few new owners since Randy Bachman built the home. Much has changed since 1975. But just like BTO’s hit songs the home remains a classic. In Bachman’s sound proof study hangs the enormous wood overdrive gear, an emblem that symbolizes BTO’s hard driving sound.  The musicians discovered the gear in a field during a photo session and used it as their symbol, legend has it.

Bedrooms have been expanded into luxurious suites to meet with modern expectations. Walls have been removed to reveal a more open floor plan with grand living spaces & great halls. Hotel sized maintenance systems & new appliances have been installed. An indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna, along with countless other luxury design finishes have been invested and meticulously maintained.

A small lake with cascading waterfalls lies near the gated entrance to the property following a driveway that weaves through manicured gardens and rolling hills toward the main house.  Shimmering birch, cedar, alder and cottonwood trees compose the forests scattered throughout and Bertrand Creek runs through the North East corner of the property.

The historical guest house/studio stands out behind the main house along with a newly constructed barn featuring an 8+ car garage, rec room and bowling alley as well as a full sized basketball court.

Bachman-Turner Overdrive has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and are known for 1970's era songs, such as Let It Ride, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet, and Takin' Care of Business.
